Papa left me and Mom at home.
Mom looked very sad, so I wanted to do something for her.
But I didn't know what to do.
I'd been trying to get Mom's attention by biting things around the house and jumping on her, biting her hand, her sweater, her arm ...
Nothing worked at all.
She'd just ignored me.
When I'd almost given up, I heard someone calling me.
"Hey, Bobby Lee! It's me, Pop-pop Grandpa."
I looked out the window and I found Grandpa!
I tried to let Mom know that Grandpa was here.
Mom, he is here!
Mom, I don't wanna lose him.
Mom, quick, quick!
I let Mom know many times in many ways that Grandpa was here, but she didn't get what I was saying.
I hope that you can see him in this movie.
See, he's with me.
He was smiling — he had a beautiful smile and seemed at peace.
I cannot explain what I felt, but I won't ever forget him. Never.
Grandpa.
He flew across the high in the sky.
He said that he's going to find Cleo's star.
Thank you very much for seeing me.
Good bye, Grandpa, for now.

Bobby Lee, your story is beautiful. I'm glad that Pop-pop stopped by to see you. He loved you very much and he talked about you all the time. I miss Pop-pop very much but I'm trying to keep busy and to stay strong.
ReplyDeleteYou must be brave too -- I hope Mr. K is visiting you and giving you a lesson.
Much love
