Happy Birthday, Papa!

I was on leash for a long time while they had dinner.
But that's OK ... I'm a dog ...
No, I'm just joking.
I love Papa and I was glad that he had a happy birthday dinner with the family.

"Happy Birthday, Papa."

With his brother-in-law (sort of)

My family.
We all look pretty stupid ...sort of an Adam's Family.

And Tokko failed to open the bottle of wine.
The cork dropped into the bottle ...
Well, I don't mind having some cork.
Mom: "Kids cannot drink wine, Bobby Lee!"

That's it!
OK, let's go for a walk!

It's time for me now!

Go go go~!
Everybody, bye for now!

Mom: Who is going with you?

For my Grandpa ...

I wanna do something special for Grandpa.
Since Grandpa is always thinking about me from across the ocean.
OK, I'll show you my special dance ... this is only for Grandpa.
I'll do my best for a good performance.

Three, two, and Woof!

Grandpa, did you like my dance?

I love you very much!

Breaking news!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have good news today!
Mr. K told Mom and Papa that I have a good personality, although I'm a 'my pace' type.
Then Mom and Papa got so happy ... and boasted of the news to everyone.
I was also glad when Mr. K said so.
I like him very much!
Yeeeey! Clapping please!

But Mom already has doubts about Mr. K's evaluation ...

Mom: "You are damn stupid, a car is coming."

I wanna walk with you longer...more!

I won't go in yet!

Do you have a treat?
Mom: "NO, you walked more than an hour, stupid boy."

I still won't go in!
Mom: "This is not your decision, it is mine! Come in NOW!"

Mom, you are really mean.
Mom: "Fine!"

Actually I've never succeeded in extending my walks by this appeal.
But I kind of like this game as an end to a walk with Mom.

Mom, don't you wanna go on a walk again?
Mom: "No, but your snack will soon be ready if you are a good boy."

What did you say, Mom?
I'm here ... I'm a good boy ... wait!

He said that I'm a 'my pace' boy.

When I really feel that I'm a dog.

Is this mine?
I'm sure this is mine, right?

I know this has my food.
Could you open the top?
I wanna eat it all at once.
Is this bag for me too?
Mom says "No, it's not yours."
She is stingy ...

This is mine, I know it.
Shall I help you, Mom, to open it?

Mom said "NO!"
She doesn't have to say that in such a nasty way.

I have to remind her that I haven't had dinner yet.

Mom, don't forget my dinner.
Yesterday's dinner was a bit smaller than usual.
I can get extra to make up for that today, right?
Mom said "NO!"
Well, I kind of knew her answer ... she is mean.

I wonder if I can ever get anything I want without Mom's permission.

Papa, you are generous, right?
Papa: "Bobby Lee, sorry, but I've just finished ... nothing for you."

Well, I see.
Mom treat me like a dog ... or a baby.
I'm an adult gentleman, Mom.
Mom: "You are anyway my ... our treasure boy."

My favorite Amsterdam coffee shop

I went on a fancy walk with Tokko, Papa and Mom the day before yesterday.
And on the way home, the three of them visited my friend's coffee shop.
I like the man and the lady who work there.
They always rub me when I see them while walking.
When Mom and Papa went to there, they both said that 'it is just like a Coffee Shop in Amsterdam.'
Mom didn't take any picture of their decoration, I cannot explain how similar it is though ... you know ... buzz ...
I like the cafe since the master gave me a special creamy drink.
No smoking though.
His face looks like he is high ... but actually he is not.
No one smokes, and no xxx ...

Since I'm adult now, I had a Cappuccino this time, although I didn't smoke.

Mom doesn't want to show these movies since Mom is too up-close, but Tokko insisted that I upload them since she thinks they are great (Tokko shot this, of course) ... so I'll upload it.
Sorry Mom ... but no one cares about you ... (Mom: What did you say?!)

And one more ...

I wanna go again soon.
Next time I want a cake!
Mom: If you are a good boy and don't get on the people's chairs ... you have a chance.
We all like the coffee shop 'BON' (we are not PR staff)

I'll go to bed early tonight.

I'll sleep early tonight since I have a lesson of Mr. K tomorrow ... I have to concentrate on his commands.
I hope that Mr. K won't scold me ...
I hope that I will be praised a lot ...
Cross your fingers for me.

I'll write you soon about a visit of  'Coffee Shop'.

Letter from Jimmy Mac

When I woke up, I found a letter from Jimmy!
I love letter from Jimmy.
So I'll show you the letter and pictures of Jimmy and Pop-Pop!
Thank you very much Jimmy and DMF and Pop-Pop!

Hello Bobby Lee,

I know how you feel about rain.  DMF (also known as CL or Crazy Lady) loves the rain... as long as she is inside looking out at it or listening to the raindrops on the roof when she is reading. But she makes me put on my raincoat and we go for a walk.  Here is me in my raincoat on Pop-Pop's bed, looking out the window.  The rain was not too bad on Monday but terrible on Sunday (when SF 49ers lost the chance to go to the Super Bowl).  Then the other photo of me in my raincoat is on the front porch. One thing that I like about Mondays is that it is garbage pickup day.  That means lots of garbage falls on the street and I can scarf up a bone or other morsel. This Monday I found a french frie. Today is Tuesday and the sun is out. Pop-Pop (aka Fitz) took his first walk of the New Year with me and DMF.  He's been pretty sick.  And now he is thin and a bit weak and wheezy.  But he has turned the corner and we think he will be walking twice a day.  I'm glad.  He walks soooo slowly -- that means I get to sniff each little twig and leaf. We're going to have about seven days of springlike weather so I will be getting lots of walks. I hope you get to go to the Chuckit place.  I saw a package full of balls being wrapped up for you!  Lucky boy!Later, Jimmy Mac

Snow is delicious!

Yesterday ... it was again raining and Mom didn't take me for my second walk, which she usually does at night.
So, it seemed another day for which I had no story to tell you.
I napped and was having a dream of eating a huge birthday cake all at once.
A HUGE CAKE ... but I wouldn't give even a bite to Mom ...
Zzz ...

But ...

Suddenly, Papa called me and Mom from downstairs and Mom's face changed to a big smile.
I wondered what had happened.
We went to downstairs (by elevator, of course).
Mom took me out to my small back yard.
I first thought that Mom had given me a huge cake, since it was just like my birthday cake ... trees, the ground, wood chips, everything had a white topping!
Was I still dreaming, I wondered.
But I was not dreaming.
I was so surprised and I actually was at a loss for words, I froze (good joke, right?) for a while.
It was amazing ... Mom told me that it is called snow!
Do you know what snow looks like?
This is it!
... Well, since I stepped on it, wood chips came up, but at the beginning it was all white, it is true!

These two shots might show it a bit better.

Mom didn't take any good pictures, since she played too much and was too excited.

Mom made me a snowball and I tasted it.
It tasted very good, but the problem with a snowball is that you have to eat quickly. Otherwise it disappears for some reason.
I asked Mom to make me a lot of snowballs, and I ate a lot.
The kitchen counter for making snowballs was the top of the outside unit of an air conditioner.

What is snow?
Well, if I have tell you in one word ... it is food.

I'll upload a movie that shows me playing with snow after I ate a lot of snow balls.
You can see how Mom was mean to me.
I wanted to run not only in my tiny space outside but also in our bedroom, but she shut the door so I couldn't get in ... she said "No, you have too much snow on you!"
What does that mean?

She tried to wipe me with some towels but I finally escaped and got on my bed.
I'm dry enough, right?
Mom, don't mad at me ...

I hate rainy days!

I was in my house all day yesterday since Mr. K, my trainer, advised Mom and Papa that it's not necessary to take me out if it is raining.
And I didn't like that advice.
But the day came.
It was rain!
I wanna go out, Mom.

I pray seriously ... "please stop raining!"

I got bored on Saturday.
So I had to think to ways of killing time.

I ran around my room (Mom: Not 'your room,' our room, Bobby Lee!) with my antler.

I tried to put the point of antler in my eye ... I wanted show Mom what a strong boy I am.

I asked Papa to take me out.
Hey, Papa, it is not strong rain at all.
Let's go!

I didn't succeed.

I played with the bath mat.
The bath mat had to have a role in my game.

I played with my red bird.

I even played a hiding game by myself.
No one searched for me though.

I did 'night patrolman' at night too.

I finally got crazy.

This is my story for Saturday, Jan. 21 2012
